Judicial makes searches in the diocese of Porto to investigate complaints … – Daily News – Lisbon

Judicial Police (PJ) seeks the author of anonymous letters , sent dozens of priests, which raise charges against several members of the clergy . According to the Journal News, inspectors of PJ raided the headquarters of the diocese and analyzed computers in several parishes.

The letters, signed “M. Saleixo” began to emerge after the Bishop of Porto, D. António dos Santos, announced that it intended to change some parish priests.

According to the Journal News , some priests stress that can be linked to the change of priest in the parish of Canelas, when Roberto Sousa was away. The Canelas parish was one of the computers affected by the search.

Moreover, the PJ also investigates an e-mail account that was created in the name of the headquarters of the diocese, used to send a complaint made by Father Roberto Sousa. The letter, sent to a newspaper from that email address, another priest accused of sexually abusing seminary students.
