The US journal Science today elected as the “number one scientific breakthrough 2014 top” the meeting of Rosetta, the European Space Agency, with a comet.

After leaving the Earth 2004, Rosetta has contacted the comet known as 67P / Churyumov-Gerasimenko in August this year, after launching the Philae probe, which made the first successful landing on a comet ever.

Still the probe is found inactive, are high hopes that “wake up” next year and send more scientific information on the conditions of the comet.

“The Landing of Philae probe was a fantastic achievement and caught the world’s attention, “said Tim Appenzeller, the Science journal editor.

” But the whole mission of the Rosetta probe is an incredible achievement. It has given scientists the opportunity to observe cabin how a comet warms, breathes and evolves, “he stressed.
