Final chapter of the trilogy “The Hobbit” hits theaters – TSF Online

After ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey “and” The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’, ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies’ shows the completion of the epic journey of Bilbo Baggins who joins the wizard Gandalf and the dwarves to recover 13 the Kingdom of the Dwarves who is under the power of the dragon Smaug.

When the director Peter Jackson wanted to return to Middle Earth, after shooting three films of ‘The Lord of the Rings », the goal going to be the most faithful to the book by JRR Tolkien. It was under this idea that emerged the will to divide the work in the first two films and, later, in three chapters.

On the one hand, the trilogy “The Lord of the Rings” was created from three books with over a thousand pages, on the other hand, “The Hobbit” does not reach 300 pages. Thus, Peter Jackson team and screenwriters Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens and Guillermo del Toro, decided to use the appendices of “The Lord of the Rings” and other works of the author. Choices that did not fail to generate criticism, notably by creating new characters (like elf Tauriel) and some sequences.

In this third chapter becomes more obvious intention to link this to the trilogy of “The Lord of the Rings’, whose story takes place 60 years later. However, to recover elements of “The Lord of the Rings’ Peter Jackson also creates an emotional relationship with the fans and spectators of Tolkien’s universe of Middle-earth and its protagonists.
