The driver who fatally hit a man in the county Leiria on Christmas Eve and placed in escape surrendered to authorities, said Friday the commander of the Traffic Detachment of Leiria GNR.
“The driver surrendered voluntarily to the police on t he day of the accident,” said the captain Hugo Moita, adding that “the man was identified and subject to alcohol and drug screening tests.”
According to this responsibility, man, about 45 years old, lies in the area of Leiria and conducting a private motor vehicle.
The accident occurred by 18 hours of the 24th, on the National Highway 109 at the junction for Location of Chãs, Regueira Bridges, said the captain Hugo Moita, adding that the victim is a 77 year old man. The occurrence follows for investigation, said the military.
