Facebook virus arrives in Portugal – TVI24

A virus Facebook, reported initially in Russia, has come to Portugal, having been detected in Russia. The virus spreads up through links appearing in messages or the user’s wall, which infect the user’s device when clicked.

The messages sent by the virus say ‘OMG!’ or ‘Private Video », appearing as if they were sent by friends and accompanied by a link. If the person clicks on the link, your device is infected with “malware” (a type of software that can damage or theft of information) and the virus spreads to your friends.

Several computer experts contacted by the international press recommend that users do not click on the links. If they do, advise to change the Facebook password and proceed to a cleaning device with antivirus software.

Facebook has confirmed the existence of the virus detected and the source. According to the social network, all started because of an extension for Chrome called youturn, which has been removed however. The malicious links that spread the virus were also removed from the platform.

“Security is the top priority of Facebook. Developed multiple tools to block and delete spam. Some of these instruments prevent the spread links between people, while others help clean the murals after the attack, “he clarified the advice of Facebook, in a statement sent to TVI24.
