Volvo announces parking system without drivers - The Ball

Volvo announced the development of a new parking system driver that unlike existing proposals, does not require the presence of the driver on board. This system is already being tested in V40 and the XC90 will be available from 2014.

Autonomous Parking Concept, looking for a parking space independently, after the driver had already left the vehicle. The vehicle moves at low speed using GPS and sensors can detect where to park. When the driver activates the command vehicle for the return trip, even out of the parking place.

The whole operation is done automatically and only triggered by an application for smartphone which will also inform the owner on the location of the vehicle.
