The Chamber of Portimão is facing various obstacles and protests to apply the Rate of Civil Protection, passed two years ago but only now put to the collection. The move is being interpreted as “another tax” in a county that charges the maximum rate of IMI for meeting financial assistance under the Support Program Local Economy (LMP). Payment to suppliers of municipal services has a delay of five years.

The Civil Protection fee covers not only the urban buildings, but also the rustic buildings.
