Another planet ‘twin’ of Earth was discovered in a miniature … – PT Journal

‘Gliese 832 c’ is “potentially habitable”, has a much larger than Earth (five times), being located 16 light-years mass. Between the three planets are considered very similar to the Blue Planet and integrated in a smaller than our solar system.

The Third ‘twin brother’ of the Earth is located about 16 light-years from Earth, astronomers clarify University of New South Wales, Australia, which became public this discovery.

‘Gliese 832 c’ is “potentially habitable” and has an orbit that takes 36 days. Its mass is much higher than the earth – five times -. Temperatures and are also very similar

“Given the great mass of the planet, it is likely that he has a massive atmosphere, which can make the planet uninhabitable. A denser atmosphere would keep the heat trapped and would cause it was too hot, “notes Chris Tinney, Australian astronomer of New South Wales.

“With a giant and a potentially rocky inner outer planet, this planetary system is a kind of miniature solar system,” he adds.

experts determine the similarities with Earth according to the Index of similarity with Earth (ESI).

‘c Gilese 832′ has an ESI of 0.81 and it was only after ‘Gilese 667C c’, which has a 0.84 ESI) and ‘Kepler-62′ (with 0.83 ESI).

However, this new twin brother is located much closer to the Earth (23 light years). And so it becomes even more interesting.

Second is Kepler-62, which is very similar to Gliese 667C c ‘. However, it is much further:. 1,200 light years from the Blue Planet

With the new discovery, scientists seem to have found the third twin brother of the Earth.
