A PlayStation 4 million sold in one day - Público.pt

On the first day the new Sony console hit the shelves of stores in the United States and Canada, on Friday, were sold about a million PlayStation 4, the company said. The sales volume is close to the number of orders placed even before the console will be launched in the market.

With an interval of seven years since the launch of the previous model, in 2006, Sony is second to market a next-generation console. The PlayStation 4 is released after Nintendo has launched the eighth generation of consoles at the end of last year, with the Wii U.

Taking account of the first sales in the U.S. and Canada, Andrew House, responsible for Sony Computer Entertainment, held on Sunday that it was a reaction “phenomenal” and said he hoped this “enthusiasm” is repeated when, at the end of the month , Sony launched the new home console in Europe and Latin America.

In Portugal, where the buying games for consoles is falling, will be put on sale on 29 November. The new PlayStation will cost 399 euros, 100 euros below the Xbox One, that competitor Microsoft will put on sale in some markets on 22 November (Portuguese arrive in stores until next year).
