Facebook, Microsoft and Google unite in rewards in the hunt ... - Net & Tech

The three giants – Facebook, Microsoft and Google – have joined the project Internet Bug Bounty, that assign rewards to those who find critical flaws in various online platforms, such as OpenSSL, Apache and Perl.

This project began at the head of Alex Rice, head of Facebook’s product security while socialize with other two friends from Microsoft (Katie Moussouris) and Google (Chris Evans).

This whole project was constructed so that it can regenerate the internet as a whole, correcting minor or major flaws that could expose its users to illegal activities, thus making the experience of using the internet as a whole lot safer.

While Facebook and Microsoft are two companies that fund this whole project, along with several elements of Google will come together to assess what flaws pointed out by users will be worthy to receive rewards or not.

rewards offered comprise very different values ??depending of course on which the platform hacked and severity of the failure that was found. While finding a fault in one of the isolated platforms may be worth up to $ 500, a failure of the global Internet will compensate the user with a fantastic maximum of $ 5,000.

Microsoft has had a similar service for users who pay reportassem system failures and security, however, this is the first time we see three giants of the internet world to unite their efforts to improve the overall experience of using the internet .
