In a special
IGN called “Question everything to Microsoft about Xbox One,” Marc Whitten confirmed that despite its next console to be designed to work with the Kinect, it works the same without the camera.
Whitten says that makes the experience much better, since the possibility to say “Xbox On” to how we control the TV with voice.
There are several uses for the Kinect that make the whole experience much better Xbox One but you can still play without Kinect on.
“That said, such as online, the console will function the same if the Kinect is not connected, though you can not use any functionality or experience that explicitly uses the sensor.”
