A fourth research units are candidates for funding without financimento
Rating is a condition that the institutions have to incur to access finance.
Seventy-one research units, a total of 322 who applied in 2013 Public funds will not receive funding, reveal the results of the first phase of the review released today by the Foundation for Science and Technology.
The 71 institutions were rated lower than “good”, note from which units may be entitled to a base unit variable funding between 5000 and 400 thousand euros per year, depending on their size, the work undertaken and the evaluation result.
The remaining 251 units are based funding guaranteed, but most of them – 168 – will still be able to apply for a strategic additional funding, without any maximum ceiling fixed to move to the second phase of the evaluation
