YouTube wants to compete with Netflix and Amazon – Express

Judging by the number of trailer views of “Scare PewDiePie” which in just three hours was seen by over 500,000 people, the decision seems wise. From next Wednesday, February 10th, YouTube joins Netflix and Amazon Prime and replaced own schedule, an exclusive channel that offers movies and exclusive series to subscribers.

$ 9.99 per month (9 euros), the Red Originals subscribers will still have guaranteed other advantages such as videos without advertisements, the ability to download content to watch offline, and the signing of the Google Play Music. For now, the service is only available in the United States, but the company is already planning to extend the service to Europe and other regions.

The launch of YouTube Red Originals was announced on Wednesday, in a presentation that have been unraveled four unique programs that subscribers will have access: the feature film “a Trip to Unicorn Island,” which shows the journey of youtuber Lilly Singh, known on the network as “Superwoman” for 26 cities around the world; “Dance Camp,” a series about the team AwesomenessTV, which tells stories of friendships, passions and discoveries from the dance; the “Entertainment Team” comedy about a battle to save the planet from a powerful enemy; and “Scare PewDiePie”, a series produced by the creators of “The Walking Dead” in which the most famous youtuber the world experiencing situations inspired by video games.
