It is another step in robotics. The Google subsidiary, Boston Dynamics, has revealed the latest progress of its humanoid Atlas.
The Guardian says that a month significant progress was made, turning a disjointed and full robot wire in a prototype capable of lifting weights of 4.5 kg and up, even getting up after being pushed by one of its creators. Is more agile, writes the British newspaper.
The video shows the Atlas to rise was released this Tuesday by Boston Dynamics.
the next generation of Atlas is smaller than its predecessor and able to run wireless displays and even walking in the snow.
An earlier version of Atlas had a “life” difficult in the latest robot challenge – DARPA Robotics challenge – after falling again and again and did not get up. That is why the conquest of the current model is significant, says Sky News. The Atlas incorporates sensors on his body and legs to get to the balance that allows to put yourself in the foot. It also has sensors on the head that allow you to avoid obstacles.
The robot weighs 80 kilograms and is one meter and 75 centimeters and is just one of the creation of the Boston Dynamics, a company acquired by Google in 2013 and best known for robots line four-legged Big Dog, designed for military maneuvers.
According to the company website, “the Big Dog is a robot terrain walking, runs, climbs and carries heavy load.” Although it was thought by the US armed forces, The Guardian writes that these are not, however, so excited about the latest version, including the noise the engine projects.
