According to the climatological bulletin published today on its website, the average maximum temperature in the continent was the third highest since 1931 (the highest was in 2008 with 14.70 degrees celsius).
The IPMA also indicates that the mean daily maximum temperature (14.50 degrees) and minimum (7.07 degrees) air were much higher than the amount normal with anomalies of 1.41 and 2.53 degrees Celsius, respectively.
With regard to the minimum air temperature in January, the institute says that was the sixth highest since 1931 (value more high in 1955 with 8.58 degrees).
The IPMA also point in your monthly climatological report that the month of January was very rainy, and the average amount of precipitation (189.0 mm) was the highest in the last 15 years (the previous highest value in 2001 to 254.2 millimeters).
