Facebook goes full of secret tricks lately. Can transform photos of social networking (and Instagram) in ASCII text; and can play chess with your friends in Messenger.
How do you explain the Lifehacker, all you need is a special phrase to open the chessboard and start playing. The test was used in Facebook chat and Messenger app for iOS and Android (the game does not open the app for Windows Phone)
works like this.
1. During a conversation, typefbchess play and appear the board. Begins.
2. Select a part using K for king, Q for Queen, B for bishop, N for the horse, R to the tower, or P for pawn.
3. Then see to which house you want to move the piece on the board; this is identified by a letter and a number.
For example, if you move a pawn to the house c3, typefbchess Pc3. If you want to move the horse to the square f3, typefbchess Nf3. This is the algebraic notation system.
To get a piece, just type in the position where it is.
If two identical pieces can occupy the same square, Facebook asks which one want to move
There are some more advanced controls: if a pawn reaching the last line, this can be upgraded and can choose to play – for example, fbchess PF8 = Q to turn it into a queen.. And to give up the game, enter resignfbchess.
If in doubt, typefbchess help to access the command list. And to enlarge the board in the computer, simply go to facebook.com/messages. Of course, there are many other ways to play chess online with your friends, but it is accessible to everyone you know on Facebook
