Google smallest robot, more agile and resistant to “bullying” – TVI24

It is not today that Boston Dynamics, now owned by Alphabet, the same will be true of Google, surprises us with the physical wonders of robots that creates. The Atlas robot, in particular, always caught the attention of understood and now returns to surprise. The automaton is a big improvement on the first version of Atlas launched three years. It is smaller, lighter and considerably more agile, as shown in a video released on Tuesday

According to the Daily Mail , the Atlas, which measures 1.75 meters and weighs 81 kilograms (equivalent to humans), has been improved and is more independent (the previous average 1.83 meters and weighed 150 kilograms). Like its predecessor, the new Atlas also operates on batteries and without requiring any type of cable.

As you can check in the video, what is striking is that the robot is able to do. The Boston Dynamics explains that Atlas has sensors around the body that allow you to maintain balance and other in the head, which give you the ability to avoid obstacles.

So the Atlas much does well indoors and abroad, in a very irregular topography, without ever falling. The robot walks in such an unstable snow, arranges boxes on shelves, gathering volumes from the ground up when someone disturbs and deviates from its path, and can even get up when pushed.

the “bullying” as traditional by the Boston Dynamics team, could not miss in testing the new Atlas. In order to record how the robot responds in adverse circumstances, a researcher pushes the robot and takes away boxes of hand.

This robot is designed to, in the future, exploring dangerous areas like wreckage disaster situations and is getting closer to the final version.
