Court prohibits sites to issue SPORT TV – TVI24

The Intellectual Property Court decreed the 14 sites the ban on the issue of SPORT TV channels on the Internet after the company filed an injunction against uncertain. The court also ruled that the sites should be blocked and that the search engines have 10 days to prevent the pages are searchable on the Internet. Google announces it has met.

The court found as a fact that “emissions from the SPORT TV channels are available to the public through free access to Internet sites” and that in 13 of them access’ is done with one click.

The justice also said that the sites are searchable from ‘keywords’ and that the search engines have “automatically identifying sites where Internet users type in the first letters of the name. ”

Contacted by TVI, Google Portugal, which operates the leading search engine in Portugal said that removed those links, but clarified that can not block any page.

When contacted by TVI, Sport TV explains that this is the fourth favorable judgment to the channel and has already been judicially ordered the blocking of “more than a hundred illegal sites.” Over the past 18 months, clarifies Sport TV, were detected about a thousand cases of transmission or promotion channel contents and in 97% of situations transmissions have been removed or blocked.
