The first smart watch from Samsung, the Galaxy Gear debut – Portuguese is now in stores, with a recommended price of 299 euros. It’s a watch with a 1.6 inch screen, running the Android operating system and access to 70 dedicated applications – a number that Samsung wants to multiply until the end of the year. The watch includes a 1.9 megapixel camera that records and photographs and has four gigabytes of memory.

Although not an innovation category, as various

smart watches have been released in recent years, it is considered the first gear with the ability to popularize not only by the force of Samsung brand but also by binding to smartphone brand. This is where the Galaxy Note 3, the new version of the smartphone giant brand unveiled in early September in Berlin. With quad-core processor at 2.3 GHz, 4G and Android 4.3, Note 3 is lighter, thinner and faster. It has a 13 megapixel rear camera and gives greater prominence to the stylus S Pen, which turns the device into a “notepad advanced.” Therefore, it has a 5.7 inch screen, bigger than the previous. It lies in the category to which retailers call phablets: too big to be mobile and too small to be tablets, a category in which the brand has pioneered.

Available today for 829 euros in the open market and 699 euros for the mobile operators, the Note 3 can be purchased bundled with the clock by 999 until the end of October. Alone, the Gear costs 299 euros, but only work with some Samsung smartphones. “The Gear is a fellow of the Note,” noted Miguel Lima, head of brand. “The Gear gives us the freedom that smartphones took us off because we are always clinging to them,” he joked.
