Parqly startup that wants to solve parking problems in large cities, won the 4th edition of the entrepreneurship and innovation competition bIG Smart Cities promoted by Vodafone and Ericsson.
Designed to solve the parking problems so common in large urban centers, Parqly app will provide information on the car park more suitable for drivers in terms of proximity, occupancy rate or price. Also, the Parqly will allow even book in advance the place of intended parking and make payment of the park through the phone.
With the victory in the final yesterday, the Thalia Theatre, Parqly will now be incubated at Vodafone Power lab, the ‘laboratory’ of entrepreneurship and innovation at Vodafone Portugal. Alongside this, you will travel to Stockholm to meet the headquarters of Ericsson and its innovation poles as well as benefit from the 10,000 euros prize to begin to make real your solution to the parking problem in big cities.
In 4th edition of the Big Cities Smart , along with the winner, were also awarded three honorable mentions
- New Generation Vodafone Networks – take my Dronie , which joins the already known selfies technology applied to drones, allowing you to take photos and shoot movies from the air. Introduces into the market a new concept: “Dronie”;
- Ericsson Internet of Things – Movtz technology that turns any electrical plug in point of recharging electric vehicles;
- audience Award -. Ledviser , wearable device that allows riders to indicate in advance their intention to turn and catch, contributing to the reduction of accidents involving cyclists
Established in 2013 to capture technological ideas aimed at improving the daily lives of those who live, work or visit a city, the 4th edition of the Big Smart Cities was, to date, that recorded the highest number of applications ever, with the participation of over 230 teams.
