Juno and Jupiter have appointment for short – SIC News

The NASA probe entered Jupiter’s magnetic field and is prepared to enter the planet’s orbit on Monday, said the US space agency.

From that moment, Juno will enter autopilot and start the 37 laps provided around Jupiter to measure the radiation emanating from the dense atmosphere of the planet, making maps, among other experiences. Scientists are particularly interested in knowing how much water there is in Jupiter, a key element to determine the formation and evolution of large gas planet.

Jupiter orbits around the Sun at a distance greater than five times the Earth. There is however the theory that have been formed in a different location and then migrated closer to the Sun, having dragged into its orbit other planets.

The Juno spacecraft was launched in August 2011, now finishing July 1st trip nearly five years to Jupiter. The name of the Roman goddess, Jupiter woman who has the power to see through the clouds. And the probe will reach a vantage point -. 4.800 km above the clouds of Jupiter

The journey of nearly five years to Jupiter will end by 23h18 of July 4 in the eastern US, since the early hours of Tuesday in Portugal, at 4:18 a.m..

soundtrack with Jupiter sounds

to mark as patriotic day for the US, NASA and Apple commissioned the renowned musicians composing a special soundtrack: Weezer – with the song “I Love the USA” – and frontman of Nine Inch Nails Trent Reznor along with composer Atticus Ross wrote “Juno”

This nine-minute song is composed by sounds recorded by the same spacecraft.

According to Apple, these songs make up the soundtrack of a short film.
