Google’s bet on the virtual reality field was clear in its latest I / O conference. With DayDream, Google will unify the different brands on a single platform.

But according to what can be seen in the latest versions of Chrome for Android, this browser is already preparing for this new reality .

you want to enter the world of virtual reality and assume a role that does not exist yet. With several dispersed solutions and no common standard, there are the settings required for the normal and expected standardization. It is here that Google hopes to put the DayDream and all the work that has been done.

With the Android Nougat preparing to be the platform of choice for VR, it’s time for Google itself begin to prepare. For it began to appear in the Chrome for Android, the first evidence of this new (virtual) reality.

The Chrome beta version has already incorporated support for WebVR, the open-source standard, which will bring this browser support for virtual reality. Google’s idea is to allow Chrome can be used to browse the Web sites that are created with VR technologies.

in addition to WebVR, Google has already put in Chrome support for VR Shell, which will be used by VR users to browse the Internet, even that the sites are not prepared for 3D and virtual reality.

Another idea that emerged was the creation of Chrome versions for the other proposals of VR as the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.

Chrome will not be the first browser to support this. Samsung already has a browser with your VR support, but this is limited to Gear VR, which only runs on Samsung platforms.
