There is a new way to detect cancer without the need for biopsy, making the process less invasive and more effective .

The Brazilian scientist, Priscilla Kosaka, 35, a researcher at the Institute Microelectronics of Madrid, developed a new technique for the discovery of cancer diseases.

By using a nano-sensor, this new method to detect cancer, as well as being less invasive than the biopsy is ‘ten million times more effective’, according to the Kosaka Priscilla researcher.

“There is currently no technique allowing the detection of molecules that are at very low concentrations and are juxtaposed over 10 thousand protein species in a single bio-sample, “said Priscilla Kosaka in remarks quoted by the G1.

This new technique makes it possible, through the color change in the cells, nano-sensor detect the type of tumor, if malignant or benign.

For this researcher, the next step is to improve the nano-sensor in order to detect the type of cancer cell and make the screening process faster and more effective cancer. LikeTweet
