The Hubble telescope, celebrating 25 in orbit, captured a vision in Eagle Nebula showing their ‘Pillars of Creation’.
about 6500 light years from Earth and located in heart of the Milky Way, the ‘Pillars of Creation’ were again raised in photography.
Paul Scowen, Arizona State University, describes the photos of Eagle Nebula as’ new images of an old friend. ” The original image was taken in 1995, of the pillars of star-forming gas and dust clouds.
With the Hubble system improvements, it was possible to capture this new image with a wider angle and a resolution twice as large as the original.
The images released now, had been captured in September 2014 through a camera installed on the telescope in 1990.
